Skogmannen (the forest man) is the rare male counterpart to the Skogsrå in Swedish folklore, found primarily in Skåne and adjacent regions. Unlike the female Skogsrå, who is known for luring men, Skogmannen targets women who wander alone in the forest. He appears as a handsome, well-dressed man — often a hunter or a gentleman in green — who approaches solitary women and charms them, only to reveal his non-human nature.
