Skrømt
Skrømt (plural: skrømt, from Old Norse: skrimsl meaning ghost or monster) is a general Norwegian term for supernatural apparitions, ghosts, and frightening creatures. Unlike more specific named entities, skrømt is a catch-all category for unexplained eerie phenomena - strange sounds at night, shapeless moving shadows, creepy sensations, or terrifying visions. In Norwegian folk belief, skrømt could be the ghost of a person who died badly, a malicious nature spirit, or simply a manifestation of the wild.
