Skuggabaldur (Shadow Baldur) is a hybrid creature in Icelandic folklore, the opposite cross of the skoffín — born from a tomcat and a vixen (female fox). Skuggabaldur has very dark fur, almost black, and sometimes possesses the same deadly gaze as the skoffín. It preys primarily on livestock.
