Sky Spirits
Sky Spirits are celestial beings in Arapaho mythology who inhabit the sky world. In the story of The Girl Who Climbed to the Sky, an Arapaho girl climbed a tree that grew taller and taller, carrying her into the sky world where she found a beautiful land populated by these spirits. She married a sky spirit and learned songs and ceremonies from them. Eventually a spider spun a web to lower her back to Earth, where she taught the Arapaho the sky ceremonies she had learned. Sky spirits are associated with celestial knowledge, ceremonies, and the connection between earth and sky
