Sokaï
Sokaï (also called Talakougba) are small, human-shaped genies described by the Gbaya and Mandja peoples of the Central African Republic. They have long hair falling to their shoulders and white skin, the colour of the inhabitants of the other world. Their favourite places are the hollows of rocks and great trees and the edges of water, where they like to rest. They can make people disappear and reappear, and can even take them hostage for a long period.
