Sonangi
Not independently attested as a figure of Korean folklore. No source documents a 'Sonangi', a Jeju sea goddess who protects fishermen yet can sink boats. Documented Jeju sea deities include Yeongdeung Halmang, the wind-and-sea goddess honored in the February Yeongdeunggut rites, and Seolmundae Halmang, the giant creator goddess. The recorded traits likely conflate these attested figures.
