Soucouyant
In Antiguan and Barbudan folklore the soucouyant is a blood-sucking hag who sheds her skin at night and flies as a ball of fire to enter homes and drain the blood of her victims. A figure shared across the Caribbean, she is warded off with salt in doorways and garlic, and belief in her warns against dabbling in black magic.
