Soucouyant
In Saint Lucian folklore the sukuyant is a blood-sucking hag who sheds her skin at night and flies as a ball of fire in search of victims, entering homes to drain their blood. A figure shared across the Caribbean, she is warded off with salt in doorways and garlic, and is linked to shape-shifting and dark magic.
