Spider Spirit ( Maori)
Not independently attested in documented Māori folklore or academic sources. No spider spirit appears in standard Māori tradition; the closest figures are Punga, a deity associated with ugly, deformed things and ancestor of lizards and insects, and the tree fern ponga. The recorded traits appear to be a generic forest-spirit composite rather than a documented being.
