Spider Trickster (Mauritian)
Not independently attested as a named entity in Mauritian folklore. Anansi the spider trickster is West African (Akan) and Caribbean—absent from Mauritian Creole tradition. Mauritian tricksters include Lougarou (werewolf, from French loup-garou) and Touni Minwi. The 'spider trickster of valleys' entry projects Anansi onto Mauritius due to African diaspora assumptions.
