Storsjöodjuret
Storsjöodjuret is Sweden's most famous lake cryptid, reported in Lake Storsjön (Jämtland) since the 17th century. Described as serpentine, 10-14 meters, with humps, smooth skin, sometimes a long neck. Briefly granted protected species status (1986-2005). A modern cryptid phenomenon with deep roots in local oral tradition, not an ancient mythic being. Major tourist attraction.
