Sumanguru Kante
Sumanguru Kanté is the villainous sorcerer-king of the Sosso people in the Epic of Sundiata. He was a powerful king who seized the remnants of the Ghana Empire and conquered nine neighboring kingdoms, including the Mandinka lands. Sumanguru was a master blacksmith and powerful sorcerer, invulnerable to all weapons except one — an arrow tipped with a white rooster spur. He possessed a magical balafon (xylophone) that could reveal his enemies' secrets. His seven-story tower palace in Sosso was filled with fetishes and magical charms.
