Teke
Not independently attested in Kyrgyz folklore by this name. Teke, the Turkic word for the ibex, is here described as a guardian spirit of mountain passes and high peaks who protects or misleads according to respect shown. The documented protector of wild game in Kyrgyz and Turkic hunting tradition is Kayberen, guardian of ibex, deer, and mountain herds.
