Tengu
Tengu are supernatural mountain spirits of Japanese folklore, commonly shown with long noses and magical powers, believed to be reincarnations of the proud. The daitengu are elder masters with red noses and feather fans, and karasu-tengu are crow-like; the daitengu Sōjōbō is said to have taught young Minamoto no Yoshitsune the martial arts. Feared and respected, they guard forests and mountains.
