Thunder Spirit
The Thunder Spirit is a powerful sky spirit in Blackfoot mythology, associated with storms, thunder, and lightning. According to legend, the Thunder spirit gave the Blackfoot the sacred pipe, where lightning had struck a tree and left a beautifully carved pipe. The Thunder spirit instructed the finder to form a society of pipe keepers and taught the songs and rituals for its use. Thunder is associated with the renewal of life in spring and is both feared and respected for its power to bring life-giving rain or destructive storms
