Thunderer
The Thunderers (Hadiwennoda:dye's), led by Hino (Hi-nun), are the storm spirits of Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) mythology: mighty bird-men who bring thunder and rain, battle the horned serpent (Oniare) and protect humanity and the crops. In a Seneca tale Hi-nun slew a monstrous serpent in the Niagara River whose thrashing carved out Niagara Falls. They are honored with tobacco offerings.
