Thunders
The Cree Thunderers are great thunderbirds (Piyesiw): immense eagles whose wing-beats roll as thunder, whose flashing eyes strike lightning, and who fight the underwater serpents. They bring the rains of summer storms and are both feared and honored as messengers between the sky world and the earth; offerings are made to keep their goodwill.
