Tie-Snake
The Tie-Snake (u'lax daxgi'ilu in Natchez) is a water spirit common to Southeastern Native American folklore, documented among the Natchez and neighboring peoples. Though the size and shape of an ordinary snake, tie-snakes possess immense strength and can crush victims or drag them into the water. In a Natchez story, a Tie-Snake cut in half becomes two eels that slither away.
