Ti'iti'i
Ti'iti'i is the Samoan culture hero who won fire for his people in the western-Polynesian version of the great origin-of-fire cycle. Following his father Talanga into the subterranean land of the earthquake god Mafui'e, Ti'iti'i demanded fire outright, wrestled with the god, and broke off one of his arms; to save the other, Mafui'e revealed that fire is concealed in trees and is drawn out by rubbing dry wood together.
