Tirawa (Atíʼas Tirawa, 'Our Father Above') is the supreme creator god of the Pawnee people. He created the universe and placed the Morning Star in the East and the Evening Star in the West. The Morning Star, a male warrior god, was created first. The female Evening Star resisted the divine plan to create humankind, so Morning Star fought and overcame forces in the western sky to mate with her, creating the first human (a girl).
