Tislit n'Anzar
Tislit n'Anzar (the Bride of Anzar) is a mythological figure from Amazigh (Berber) folklore practiced in Tunisia and across the Maghreb. She is associated with an ancient rain-calling ritual known as Taghonja or Tagnja performed during times of drought. In the myth, Anzar is the god of rain who falls in love with a mortal woman. When she refuses him, Anzar withholds rain from the land, causing drought and suffering until the woman relents and agrees to marry him — at which point life-giving rain returns. The ritual involves creating a wooden doll shaped from a ladle or pestle (called Taghonja)
