To-Karvuvu is the foolish and malicious brother in the mythology of New Britain, Papua New Guinea. Created alongside his wise brother To-Kabinana from bloodied pandanus strips, To-Karvuvu's well-intentioned but bungled attempts to imitate his brother brought evil and harmful things into the world. When he tried to create wives by throwing coconuts, he threw them point-downward, creating women with flat, ugly noses.
