Tornak
Tuurngaq (tornak, torngak; plural tuurngait or tornat) are the helping spirits of Inuit shamanism, summoned by the angakkuq for healing, divination, weather control and spirit journeys. In Greenland they were called tornat, and East Greenlandic serving spirits were known as tartoks. Shamans kept some in doll figurines; they were the angakkuq's main source of power.
