Toyol
Toyol is the child-sized supernatural thief of Malay-Indonesian folklore, created by a bomoh through black magic from the corpse of a stillborn or aborted fetus. Animated to serve its master, it slips invisibly into homes at night to steal valuables and is kept in a jar when controlled. Childlike and mischievous rather than evil, it entered popular culture in the 1969 Singapore film Mat Toyol.
