Toyol
Toyol is the child-sized supernatural thief of Singapore Malay folklore, created by a bomoh through black magic, often from a stillborn or aborted fetus, to rob the wealthy. Concealed in roof spaces or dark corners of its keeper's home, it ventures out at night, invisible and swift. Belief in the toyol crosses ethnic lines in multi-ethnic Singapore and remains a living oral tradition.
