Trentren
Trentren Vilu is the benevolent land serpent in the Mapuche flood myth, opponent of Caicai Vilu. He raises hills to save humans and animals from Caicai's flood, transforms the trapped into birds and fish, and becomes the mountain ranges walling the valley. Associated with earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Documented by Faron (1963), BastÃas et al. (2021), and Mapuche oral tradition.
