The Trung Sisters — Trưng Trắc and Trưng Nhị — are Vietnam's most celebrated legendary heroines who led a rebellion against Chinese Han occupation in 40-43 CE. Daughters of a Lạc lord in Mê Linh, they were educated in martial arts and military strategy by their father.
