Tui Manu'a
The Tui Manu'a is the mythical first king of the Manu'a Islands (the easternmost Samoan islands). According to Samoan legend, the Tui Manu'a was directly descended from the supreme god Tagaloa and held the highest spiritual and temporal authority in ancient Samoa. The Tui Manu'a lineage was established by Tagaloa himself, who sent the first Tui Manu'a to rule the islands. The title predates the better-known Tafa'ifa titles of Samoa and represents the oldest continuous chiefly lineage in Polynesia.
