Tupilaq
The tupilak is an avenging monster of Greenland Inuit tradition, assembled by a shaman from animal bones, corpse parts and other material and animated through song and ritual to destroy an enemy. It must return to land before dawn or dissolve into its parts; a stronger victim can turn it back on its maker, who is safe only by public confession.
