Not attested as a shapeshifting trickster in documented Miwok sources: Miwok mythology centers on figures such as the Yayali, Lizard, Coyote and the Water-Babies, and no Miwok-specific trickster turtle appears in the folklore record. The entry appears to be a generic Native American turtle-trickster motif misassigned to the Miwok.
