Uab (Chuab)
Uab is the culture-hero giant of Palauan creation narratives, whose vast body is said to have formed the archipelago and whose appetite reshaped the land. In the founding story he gorged until his body swelled, and when bamboo shavings cut his flesh, his blood and scattered body parts created the geography of Palau. He holds the generative power of the earth in Palauan origin lore.
