Uksáhkká
Uksáhkká (Door Woman) is the Sami goddess who lives under the door of the goahti (traditional Sami tent). She is one of the three daughters of Máttaráhkká, alongside Sáráhkká and Juoksáhkká. Her domain is the threshold — the boundary between the inside and outside world. She protects people entering and leaving the dwelling, receives the newborn child into the world during birth (the moment it crosses from the womb into the world through the door of the goahti), and protects children as they learn to walk, preventing falls, injuries, and getting lost.
