Ursitoare
Ursitoare are the fate-spirits of Romanian and Moldovan folklore, three women who appear on the third night after a child's birth to decide and prophesy its destiny, much like the Greek Moirai. Their pronouncements, made in secret, fix the newborn's fortune and cannot be altered. Offerings and prayers sought their favor, tying the figure to rites of birth and family protection.
