Utrøst-folket (the people of Utrøst) are a hidden folk who live on the legendary sunken island of Utrøst off the coast of Vestlandet. Utrøst is a fairy island that appears only to the pious or those with second sight — a paradise with golden barley fields, green pastures, and goats with golden horns. The inhabitants are a peaceful hidden people who farm, fish, and live in prosperity, untouched by storms and misfortune.
