Valravn
Valravnen (the Raven of the Slain) is a supernatural raven in Danish medieval ballads and folklore. According to legend, a knight who died unshriven or a person who committed terrible acts could be transformed into a Valravn. The Valravn possesses human intelligence, speaks in human tongues, and has supernatural powers. Its curse can be broken if it drinks the blood of an infant three days old. In Danish ballads (9 versions collected by Svend Grundtvig), the Valravn appears as a talking raven who bargains with humans, demands sacrifices, and reveals secrets.
