Vishap
Vishap is the Armenian dragon — a winged serpentine creature closely associated with water (lakes, rivers, mountain springs). Dwelling on Mount Ararat, it causes thunderstorms, whirlwinds, and eclipses by ascending/descending. It steals children, replacing them with evil spirits. Vishap fought Vahagn the Dragon Slayer; a statue of Vahagn slaying Vishap stands in Yerevan.
