Vonde-Åsmund
Vonde-Åsmund (Evil Åsmund) is the restless ghost of Åsmund Rygnestad (ca. 1540-1596), a historical outlaw from Rygnestad in the Setesdal valley. Åsmund was a violent, law-defying man who fought as a mercenary in the Dutch war for independence and later built the famous Rygnestadloftet as his fortified storehouse — now a protected historic building. After his death, his ghost was said to haunt the Rygnestad area, unable to find peace due to his violent life.
