Warlock (Loup-Garou)
The loup-garou of Acadian and French Canadian tradition is a werewolf, usually imagined as a shaggy dog or bear-like creature rather than a wolf. According to the Canadian Encyclopedia, it was understood as a curse, often the price of failing to perform Easter confession for years, and breakable by drawing its blood. Its tales are a Catholic moral lesson.
