Weerwolf
Weerwolf is the Dutch werewolf, documented in 16th–17th century witchcraft trials in the Netherlands. De Blécourt and Meder recorded cases of transformation via devil's salve or wolf-skin belt. Dutch cases clustered 1590s–1620s. Word derives from Middle Dutch weerwolf (man-wolf), cognate with Old English werwulf and German Werwolf.
