Wenebojo
Wenebojo (also known as Nanabozho) is the great culture hero and trickster-transformer of the Anishinaabe people. Son of the West Wind and a human mother, he was raised by his grandmother Nokomis. He is a shape-shifter, co-creator of the world, founder of the Midewiwin (Grand Medicine Society), inventor of fishing and hieroglyphic writing, and teacher of humanity. His adventures range from the sacred (rebuilding the earth after a great flood) to the humorous (being tricked by greedy geese). He is associated with the Great Hare (Mishaabooz)
