Not independently attested in Dogon tradition. Dogon animal spirits include the Pale Fox (Ogo), Jackal, and various mask animals (antelope, hyena, monkey); no whale. The 'whale animal-spirit guarding valleys' is fabricated, likely from same Nommo conflation as the ancestor-spirit variant.
