Whale Ghost of Miwok
Not independently attested in Miwok tradition; the Miwok of California have no recorded whale ghost. The famous whale of California Indian literature is the Wintu tale of the Inland Whale, retold by Theodora Kroeber, a story of a young man swallowed by the great whale, not a ghost and not Miwok. The entry appears to combine a real coastal tale with a wrong tribe and a wrong creature.
