White Bead Maiden (Yoołgaii Asdzą́ą́), the young form of Changing Woman, was sought in marriage by the Sun, who came disguised as a handsome warrior. After many trials she traveled to his celestial house of turquoise and white shell, where she bore the Hero Twins, then returned to earth and became Changing Woman, the central female deity who governs the cycles of life and the seasons.
