Wihio (Ve'ho'e) is the Cheyenne trickster figure, a spider-like being whose name means 'spider' and is related to the word for 'chief' and the Creator's name Heammawihio. He appears as a man in most tales, both clever and foolish, wise and ridiculous. His stories range from silly antics (losing his eyeballs, falling for obvious tricks) to important cultural tales (releasing the buffalo from the wonderful sack).
