Wildcat Ancestor-Spirit of Paiute
Not independently attested as a wildcat ancestor-spirit in Paiute tradition. Paiute mythology centers on Wolf (Isa), the creator and culture hero, and his younger brother Coyote the trickster; bobcats appear only as minor characters in tales. The wildcat ancestor-spirit is a misattribution. The genuine analogues are Wolf as ancestor-creator and the Water Babies, spirits of springs and ponds.
