Wind Horse (Lungta)
The Wind Horse (lungta) is the sacred steed of Tibetan tradition that carries fortune and the vitality of the living upward to the gods. Its image, a galloping horse bearing a flaming jewel, flies on the five-colored prayer flags of the Himalayas, where the fluttering of the lungta is said to scatter blessings, good fortune and merit across the land.
