Wolf Animal-Spirit of Cheyenne
The wolf is a significant being in Cheyenne tradition, most prominently through the Wolf Warriors, a military society renowned for ferocity and courage in battle that scholars such as George Bird Grinnell linked to the Bowstring Men. Cheyenne medicine men rubbed warrior arrows against wolf fur for success in hunting, and the wolf teaches community and loyalty.
