Wolf Clan Spirits Tsimshian
Wolf is one of the four matrilineal clans of the Coast Tsimshian, called Laxgyibuu, and a principal crest whose legend holds that the wolf is the land equivalent of the killer whale. Wolf-clan spirit beings, ancestors who came from the supernatural world, are honored in crest carvings, songs, and potlatch regalia and guard the clan's territory and identity.
