Wolf Nature-Spirit of Hopi
The wolf appears in Hopi kachina religion as Kweo, the wolf kachina, a great hunter, teacher, and pathfinder who helps villages find game and guides hunts. Wolves also figure in the Hopi account of the second world, when the ancestors took the forms of wolves and bears during their migrations. Kweo is a beneficent kachina, not an abstract nature-spirit deity.
