Wolf Ancestor-Spirit of Blackfoot
Wolves hold a deep place in Blackfoot tradition as powerful, kinlike beings. In the story of the Wolf Man, a man rescued from murderous wives is adopted by a wolf pack that makes him their brother. The Blackfoot call the Milky Way the Wolf Trail, the road wolves and the dead travel to the sky, and orphaned heroes are befriended by wolves in star legends.
